A Welcome from the Chair of Governors

Hedingham School and Sixth Form Governing Body are responsible for ensuring that the school meets its strategic aims and that all students are attending a successful school that provides them with an enriched education and supports each individual’s academic and personal development. We support the school's Vision to deliver a vibrant learning environment where our students are encouraged to ‘ ‘Think’ and explore strategies, to grasp and apply knowledge, and to be resilient and take on the challenges of the 21st century.

The Governors work as a collaborative Body and make decisions as a group. We meet as a whole Body at least 6 times a year, with three sub-committees meeting at least once a term: Curriculum and Personnel, Finance and Premises and Audit and Risk.  We are there to hold the school to account for the educational standards it achieves and quality of education it provides. We also act as a critical friend to the school. Governors take an active role in school life through visits, training and attendance at school events.

The school is very fortunate to have a hard working and supportive Governing Body, bringing such diverse skills and knowledge to the strategic management of the school.
