UPDATE 21:57 Hedingham School will be closed 02.03.18. Click or see news for a detailed statement

Hedingham School will be closed on Friday 2 March.

The decision to close the School is not taken lightly and I apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

A number of factors have to be considered, with the safety of students and staff the key priority.

The most recent weather forecast is clear thawing will not occur. This may result in both students and staff taking unnecessary risks when travelling to school as although the main roads are generally fine many of the side roads are unsafe.

The bus company will not operate their normal routes and cannot guarantee which students can be collected. This is a key consideration for our school where over 70% of our students are reliant on school transport with many of the routes using small untreated roads.

Whilst the Site Team have worked tirelessly to clear the snow and ice, it is not possible to guarantee the site will be entirely safe.

The decision has been made this evening to avoid speculation and uncertainty, allowing parents/carers to arrange suitable childcare arrangement if needed.

We fully expect that The School will be open as normal on Monday 5 March and operate a normal timetable.
Thank you for your understanding and support during these exceptional circumstances.
