    Congratulations to Grace Felstead; she is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for January 2016.

    Grace was nominated for working amazingly hard to bridge the gap between people who can and cannot hear.  She set up her own class in Earls Colne where once a week she teaches finger spelling and sign language for all ages and abilities.  This enables deaf people, like herself, to have somewhere to go and build confidence and self-esteem, interacting with people who can hear.  She is a conscientious and thoughtful member of the school community.

    Mr. Panayi presented Grace with a Certificate, Badge and Cheque on Thursday 28 January 2016.

    Congratulations to Imogen Legrove; she is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for November 2015. 

    Imogen was nominated for supporting and keeping students safe on the school bus when they faced difficulties.  Also for her work assisting as a student ambassador at Cressing Temple Barnes.  She is a conscientious and thoughtful member of the school community.

    Congratulations to Charlotte Marman; she is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for October.

    Charlotte was nominated because, having finished her GCSE Geography course, she then used her own time to support other students with their geography revision.  She was very pro-active and selfless in this and worked very hard to explain all about low pressure systems and cyclones.  You are a conscientious and thoughtful member of the school community.

    Congratulations to Lewis Archer; he is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for September 2015.

    Lewis was nominated for taking part in the paired numeracy scheme to support KS3 students with their basic Maths skills. 

    He has an excellent manner with students encouraging them with their Maths, helping to build confidence and has been patient with those who struggle significantly with their basic numeracy. 

    He is a conscientious and thoughtful member of the school community.

  • June 2015

    Congratulations to Isla Mckenzie; she is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for June 2015. 

    Isla was nominated for helping out children with disabilities during the holidays.  She assists helpers in a Holiday Camp for severely disabled children, thereby giving their parents a rest for a short time.  She has been doing this for some time now. 

    Mr. Panayi presented Isla with her Certificate, Badge and Cheque on 11 June 2015.

    Congratulations to Iskadar Hafdom; she is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for May 2015. 

    Iskadar was nominated for supporting another younger student, newly arrived at Hedingham with reduced English, as this, for each of them, was not their first language.  She is a conscientious and thoughtful member of the school community.

    Congratulations to Adam Rogers; he is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for April 2015. 

    Adam was nominated for assisting the PE Department at the Girls Rugby Club, helping younger and older students, every Wednesday after school.  He is a conscientious and thoughtful member of the school community.

    Congratulations to Madeline Collett; she is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for March 2015.

    Madeline was nominated for undertaking a bake sale this summer and raising £150 for charity.
    She also takes part in Drama and Vocalise and has been involved in the School and House Councils for the last two years. She is a conscientious and thoughtful member of the school community.

    Congratulations to Helen Harvey; she is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for February 2015.
     
    Helen was nominated because having experienced a terrible accident and trauma she has returned to school and has shown great commitment to her studies.  Despite having missed a number of lessons, Helen has worked hard to catch up, and has shown great determination and displayed such a positive attitude which is inspiring.  She also encourages other students in their learning and is an excellent example to all.

  • January 2015

    Congratulations to Ben Gentry; he is the Jack Petchey Award Winner for January 2015.

    Ben was nominated for assisting the guitar teacher, Dan Ketterridge, in running the Rock School this year.  This has included supporting students in playing their music part and maintaining key musical instruments and equipment.  He often takes it upon himself to make repairs to equipment, such as guitars, and his current project is to repair expensive monitor speakers and he is sourcing all parts needed.  He was at every rehearsal and performed on bass guitar in ‘We Will Rock You’, has had an active role in sound production for many Performing Arts Concerts and has spent much of his free time completing rigging of lighting and sound equipment.  He is a conscientious and thoughtful member of the school community.
